The Re-Match Meeting…the next step in Brook and Alex’s Journey

February 11, 2025/in Intended Parent/Surrogate Stories, Surrogacy /by Hope Surrogacy

The Re-Match Meeting…the next step in Brook and Alex’s Journey

The simple take on surrogacy.

In the broad scheme of things, surrogacy probably crosses someone’s mind like this: A couple wants a baby. Said couple is unable to have a baby the conventional way. The couple considers other ways to have a baby and become a family. One option is surrogacy, meaning another woman agrees to carry and give birth to the intended parents’ baby.

Many, many factors and tangents are involved in the “nitty gritty” of getting from Point A to Point B (“B” being for Baby).

We mentioned a few hurdles and roadblocks that can occur during a surrogacy journey in the blog earlier this month. The story we’re sharing now has Intended Parents Brooke and Alex meeting surrogate Megan and her husband Chris … each of whom has stories to add to the surrogacy annals.

Brooke and Alex have already been down the surrogacy path, not once but twice. They explicitly know what it feels like to be on the highest high of surrogacy (a pregnancy) and the lowest low (a pregnancy that ended before viability).

Megan, a mom of two biological children and a one-time surrogate already, is ready to help them get to the end of this long, long road they’ve been on.

So this time – the third time – they hope is the charm!

Their Re-Match Meeting was on a beautiful Wisconsin Fall day—so beautiful that the windows were open to a gorgeous breeze—we saw two couples come together for the first time, reaching out with open arms and hopeful hearts.

Mary, Jenn, and Amy, Hope Surrogacy coordinators, were there to structure the Re-Match meeting and work out logistics for the process. But really, it wasn’t that hard, as the “experienced” couples were off and running, sharing stories and realizing very quickly that they were all on the same page.

When they met, it was as if they had known each other for a while—conversation flowed easily, and they immediately seemed to establish a good rapport.

It also may have helped that Alex and Chris are both avid hunters. They got to have a side conversation about where they’ve hunted and their successes.

Megan shared the birth stories of her two biological children and her first surrogate baby, who was born last Thanksgiving.
Her cravings for stuffing and mashed potatoes had to wait until the baby was born!

Now that they have decided to work together, the next step is to start the medical side of things, and we will be on the “hunt” for a positive pregnancy test.

You can follow their journey via this blog on a monthly basis. I look forward to these updates, as both couples are willing to share the ins and outs of this surrogacy journey.
