Meet Hannah and Cameron, Intended Parents from Omaha
Meet Hannah and Cameron, Intended Parents from Omaha.
A little bit about us:
We were both born and raised in Nebraska. So, we are Huskers fans; even though our team has had its struggles the last few years, we are still holding onto hope that a miracle will happen for the Huskers to start winning games again. Maybe this fall will be a new beginning. GO BIG RED!
Cameron and I both met through mutual friends while playing in a recreational sand volleyball league in the Summer of 2013. Unfortunately, we never made it to the final round of tournaments for our team. The only time our team ever won was when I (Hannah) was never present for volleyball games, but looking at the positive side, Cameron & I met and have come so far together.
We started dating in the summer of 2013 and have been together ever since. From going to college in Lincoln, NE, to getting married & buying our first house, Cameron and I have experienced a lot of life together.
Our Family:
This June 2022 will mark being together for nine years & married for 4. After being married for a year, we wanted to explore our options of starting a family.
It was a fear of the unknown for a while on what direction we would take to begin our family; unfortunately, we were told that carrying a baby would not be an option for me because I received a heart transplant when I was 16 yrs. and we were advised by my doctors that getting pregnant & carrying to full term is too high a risk for a transplant patient.
It has almost been 11 yrs. since my transplant, and I am healthy & very blessed to have come so far. Although it was difficult to hear this news from the doctor, Cameron and I have grown & accepted that our path to growing our family would be a little different than the average person.
Our Surrogacy Journey:
We did our research, and Cameron thought of the idea of surrogacy. After coming to this decision, we told our families about starting the process of surrogacy. Our families have been supportive, caring, & loving with our choices to expand our family. I have recognized that the support from our families is the most essential part of this. Their support has kept us going and has kept us from giving up on this journey. This all ultimately encourages us to want to fulfill our dream of meeting our baby. We can’t wait to meet our surrogate & start our journey!
